Dillabaugh Refit
Well, my shared driveway hasn't gotten any bigger, but my boat building desire has. So, I have bought my second wood boat. The first is being used down as a tidewater boat at the coast, but this one will be my baby.
1959 15' 9'' Dillabaugh (name plate attached). I guess they were made here in Portland,OR. Plywood on frame construction with 2'' cedar crossmembers. Great shape except for the transom. There was a strange modification to the transom so it has to be completely replaced.
I am using Renn Tolman's book for inspiration and for a new transom. I am hopeful I can end up with a similar design to the boat on this page THIS BOAT
The first step is to strip her down to the point where I can build the front locker and front, raised deck. I am not really sure of the placement of the center console yet (open to suggestions!)

How are you doing now with the boat? This is Mike, the guy you purchased the boat from.
About a month or so after you started on the Dilly, I bought a 30 Foot "Out O' Gloucester. Spent about 4 mos bringing it back to life. Rebuilt the twin engines and out drives.
Here is a web page link to the boat.

Click the photos until you get them to come up.
I have it in a covered moorage on Hayden Island and take it out 2-3 times a week for Sturgeon and Salmon fishing.
My email it: skipper-mike@hotmail.com
Send me some updates on the Dilly please! Impressive work you have done so far, and I know the boat will be a great addition to the Woodenboat Shows.
PS. You should consider joining the local Woodenboat and Antique club.
I think its $65.00 per yr. You get a huge book of members, meetings and a very nice Pendant Flag too.
