Tolman Skiff - Morgan's Jumbo: Getting started
Just getting started on my Jumbo. What has occured so far;
Ray Brown kindly loaned me his jig to build on last fall.
I have cut my bottom panels and scarfed them.
I have purchased my bowstem stock, my 2x8 for the transom, the ply for the transom, and more 2x for framing.
I am building in a "Costco Special" 10' x 20' enclosure. I am waiting for the weather to warm up so I can start gluing stuff together. In the meantime I am cutting out all the parts I can in order to expedite the process once the weather turns.
I have taken some photos and will post them once I figure out how to do it.

Hi Jesse, It sounds like you're off to a good start. Your Jumbo will be #3 on that jig. If you're using Basic No-Blush epoxy, it will cure well down to 50 F. so don't wait too long before you start gluing everything up. I started my Jumbo on Memorial Day in 2003 and had it in the water in mid July in 2004. Of course it's still not finished now, some three years later but what wooden boat is EVER finished.
Let me know if you need help posting photos. If you put "Morgan Tolman Skiff" in the title of your posts, it will make it easier for the search engines to find. Good luck on your project. -- Paul
Hey Paul,
Thanks. I am ordering the No Blush and some glass tomorrow. I am glad to hear it cures at that temp as I am rarin to go. I am going to try and post some pics now.
Thanks for the info. I will include that in the subject.
